Dahshur and Abu Sir

Dahshur, just south of Saqqara, is marked by two distinctly different pyramids: One is referred to as the “Red Pyramid” because of the colors of the local limestone used. The second, “Rhomboidal” or “Bent”, pyramid is a fine example of possibly the original method of construction. Abu Sir has three smaller 5th dynasty pyramids a small temple.
