Founded early in the 4th century these are the oldest monasteries in the world. This tour gives you an excellent opportunity to take an in-depth look at Coptic Christianity and its heritage. Surrounded by a high-fortified wall where there are several churches, the living quarters of the monks and   an ancient qasr (keep) on top of which sits a church.
