Luxor:

A city of central Egypt on the eastern bank of the Nile River. Built partially on the site of ancient Thebes, it includes the Temple of Luxor built in the reign of Amenhotep III and added to significantly by Rameses II, who had colossal statues of himself erected at the complex.
Many of the stories about ancient Egypt have originated from Luxor. It is an awe-inspiring place, rich with historic places.

The West and East Banks:
crossing the great Nile, you will have the chance to see the tombs in the spectacular Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and the dramatic mortuary temple of the powerful Queen Hatshepsut, as well as the great temples of Ramses II and Ramses III.
Moving to the East Bank, Karnak temple is the place to make you feel wonder at the greatness of the pharaohs and their magnificent works.

Mosque and Monastery:
Rarely visited by tourists, this unique tour will take you to unexplored areas of Luxor. First a visit to Saint Pakhom Monastery “Deir El Shayeb” and then on to the Mosque of Sheikh Abo El Hagag. This mosque has been incorporated into the walls of Luxor Temple. Finally, enjoy a thirst-quenching drink in the peaceful setting of a farm on the outskirts of Luxor.

Sound and Light in Luxor:
Enjoy an enchanting of hour at one of Egypt’s finest outdoor spectacles at Karnak Temple. Here the history of the Great Pharaohs of the 18th and 19th dynasties is narrated with dramatic sound and light effects. Walking through the darkened temple to the sacred lake, the ancient history of this awe-inspiring temple complex will come alive.

Sunset Safari:
Take a trip into the desert in a four-wheel drive vehicle and sample the delights of a spectacular sunset over the West Bank. From a high vantage point you will have a magnificent view of the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and the Tombs of the Nobles. Relax and enjoy this unforgettable experience under the starry night sky.

The Temple of El Tud:
A short distance outside Luxor you can see a small temple dedicated to the God Horus. This temple is situated in the middle of the village of El Tud, which will give you a feel for ancient and modern coexisting side by side. After the visit enjoy a trip in a motorboat up the Nile back to Luxor, passing through beautiful scenery unchanged for centuries.

Denderah:
This beautiful Ptolemaic temple dedicated to the Goddess of Love, Hathor, is only a short drive from Luxor. Here there are striking bas-reliefs of Cleopatra and her son Caesarion, the only temple in Egypt to portray this famous queen and her son. Denderah is also the only temple in Egypt where the roof is accessible, to enable you to enjoy a view of the area.

Denderah and Abydos:
From Denderah, drive on through the lush countryside and villages to visit Abydos, the renowned Temple of Seti I. Here you will see the famed “Tablet of Abydos” which lists seventy-six Egyptian Kings in chronological order. A fascinating day to experience two distinctly different styles of temples. It is recommended that you take a picnic lunch.

Abu Simbel:
The marvelous temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefetari, where colossal statues announce: “civilization starts here”, make a fascinating must see experience. Moved to high ground when the Aswan High Dam was built, these awe inspiring ancient monuments are perched on the shores of Lake Nasser, whose waters are fed from the mighty Nile’s source in Africa.

Cairo:
No holiday to Egypt is complete without a visit to the magnificent sights of Cairo- the Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza and the Egyptian Museum housing some of the world’s most fabulous treasures from the collection of King Tutankhamun and many ancient artifacts. As an additional option, depending on time, Islamic or Coptic Cairo could also be visited.
